Levy Restaurants is strongly committed to charitable and outreach programs in all of our communities from coast to coast. The heart and soul of Levy Restaurants is "Levy Cares," the Company’s charitable arm officially formed in 1997 as a 501(c) 3 public foundation. Levy Cares encourages team members to generously give to those in need. Nationwide, Levy Cares seeks to reach out and support causes and organizations dedicated to children, those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and the homeless. Levy Cares provides in-kind donations of food, hospitality services, volunteer time and financial contributions to partner organizations.

One of the catalysts of the Levy Cares program was the partnership with Kid’s Cafe, which began in 1997 in Chicago. Together, the Levy Cares team and the Fourth Presbyterian staff have created a unique program that provides nutritious meals to children from Cabrini-Green and Henry Horner Homes, and inspires the souls of the many Levy team members who get involved each month at Kid’s Cafe. The program pairs a Levy property with a Home Office department to prepare and serve a nutritional meal and lead a short educational lesson. Inspired by "Levy Cares," the volunteer spirit has become part of Levy’s company culture.

The entire company, from CEO Andy Lansing to hourly team members, believes that "A smile is nothing until it is given away." Together, Levy Cares teams have championed many heartfelt projects, including partnerships to benefit such worthwhile organizations as Make-A-Wish, the Roberto Clemente Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and Special Olympics. Levy Cares has also worked with the Cleveland Indians, the Colorado Avalanche, the Denver Nuggets, the Miami Heat and other teams to support causes in their communities. Levy Cares is also dedicated to providing nationwide support of homelessness, and has given countless hours of volunteer work to such organizations as the Pacific Garden Mission and Share Our Strength.

Levy Cares was honored with the National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Neighbor Award in 2001 and the St. Coletta’s Crystallus Award in 2000. These awards recognize Levy Cares for its heartfelt dedication to sharing smiles and making a difference in communities from Miami to Los Angeles and everywhere in between.
