Senior Executive Chef David Bidwell
We are proud to say that David Bidwell has been the Senior Executive Chef at the Georgia World Congress Center since 1994. Chef Bidwell has the awesome task of coordinating a kitchen staff of over 75 employees, manages three kitchens, and a complete on-site bakery. In addition, he must be prepared to cater to the needs of exhibitors, meeting guests, and facility workers on a daily basis. Some days that can mean preparing over 37,000 meals for one sitting, while catering a private meeting for business executives.
While directly managing the activities of the Georgia World Congress Center, Chef Bidwell is also responsible for the overall quality of the culinary operations in the Georgia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park, where he oversees a staff of chefs who prepare thousands of meals for guests at sporting events, concerts, and other activities. In the words of Chef Bidwell, "At Levy Restaurants, our goal is to provide a culinary experience that rivals the finest hotels and restaurants, whether we are serving a few hundred or thousands of guests. We have a very strong commitment to quality and consistency in our cuisine and service."
Chef Bidwell’s challenge is to continue to develop new and innovative ideas, while providing creative menus and preparation of outstanding cuisine for visitors to the Georgia World Congress Center. He received established training in food management as a principal chef in the Hyatt Hotel Corporation for over fifteen years at locations including California, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. His career at the Hyatt led him to become the executive chef at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Atlanta where he worked for eight years before joining the team at the Georgia World Congress Center.
