Let the games begin! Centennial Olympic Park, operated by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, is a 21-acre park commemorating Atlanta's 1996 Olympic Games. This truly unique state park performs a dual mission. It serve as Georgia's lasting legacy from the Centennial Olympic Games. It also anchors efforts to revitalize residential and commercial development in a central section of Georgia's capitol city, Atlanta. Centennial Olympic Park has recently re-opened its new and improved, state-of-the-art Fountain of Rings Water and Light Show!
The Park sponsors community-wide free events, including the Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks, Wednesday Wind Down Summer Concert Series and Fourth Saturday Family Fun Days. During the winter, an Outdoor Ice Skating Rink is set up along with some of the most spectacular and festive holiday lights. The Park also hosts festivals, fundraisers, and private events. These events, in addition to the normal day-to-day traffic, bring an estimated four million visitors to this urban oasis each year.
Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, Centennial Olympic Park is a well-known Atlanta landmark and easily accessable. The Georgia Aquarium, the New World of Coke, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce are adjacent to the Park. The world famous CNN Center and the OMNI Hotel is across the street.
